Kyrgyz tennis player Ksenia Palkina banned from tennis for 16 years
Kyrgyz athlete Ksenia Palkina was banned from tennis for 16 years with a six-year suspension of the ban. The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) said.
The tennis player was also fined $100,000 with a suspension of $87,500 after she admitted to breaching a series of Tennis Anti-Corruption Program regulations.
The decision came after Ksenia Palkina, ranked 163rd in the WTA singles rankings, admitted to match-fixing in 2018 and 2019.
Provided that she no longer violates the rules of the anti-corruption program in tennis, the Kyrgyz player will be able to resume her career in November 2029.
She will not be allowed to participate in or attend any tennis event authorized by any national or international tennis body or organization for the duration of the ban.
