Work on EAEU common gas market agreement nearing completion
The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) hosted a meeting of heads of authorized bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) states to discuss fundamental issues of formation of a common gas market of the EAEU. Press service of the EEC reports.
An international agreement on a common gas market is to be signed this year. The parties discussed the unagreed provisions of the agreement on a common gas market, common rules of access to gas transportation systems and procedures for the gas exchange trading. Disagreements on a number of controversial issues were resolved.
«The heads of the authorized bodies stated the need to reach a consensus on all outstanding issues as soon as possible. Temirbek Asanbekov, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the EEC, informed the participants of the meeting about further consideration of the acts regulating the common gas market of the Union at the next meeting of the EEC Board,» the statement says.
