Accounts Chamber reveals violations for 6.3 billion soms in Bishkek City Hall
The Accounts Chamber, during an audit of budget execution by the Bishkek City Hall for 2019-2020, revealed financial violations for 6,349,525.3 billion soms. Website of the department says.
Misuse of 350.5 million soms was revealed, 22 million soms were spent on unjustified salary payments, accounts receivable for more than 2 billion soms were hidden and accounts payable were overstated; another 1.5 billion soms were unreasonably allocated to organizations that are financed from the budgets of another level.
In addition, according to the Accounts Chamber, during this period, the City Hall unreasonably wrote off material assets for more than 107 million soms and the volume of construction and installation works was overestimated by almost 14.5 million soms, and a shortage of commodities and materials was revealed for 22 more millions.
The Accounts Chamber reported that materials on financial violations were sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office for a legal assessment, and instructions and recommendations were sent to the audit objects to eliminate the detected violations.
Aziz Surakmatov headed the City Hall of the capital from August 2018 to October 2020. He left the post after the October 2020 events, which led to change of power in the country.
