Kyrgyzstan and World Bank sign two new financial agreements
Within the framework of the 30th anniversary of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the World Bank, the WB management held meetings with the delegation of the republic headed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov. Office of the bank in Kyrgyzstan says.
A wide range of issues was discussed, including development priorities and support by the World Bank for human capital and reforms in the country’s energy sector, including the development of renewable energy sources. Particular attention was paid to the development of the private sector and protection of vulnerable segments of the population.
«New financial agreements have been signed on two projects: $50 million for a project to develop Batken region and $100 million for a project to improve climate resilient water services,» the World Bank office reported.
