Border conflict: Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan talk over the phone
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev had a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirodjiddin Mukhriddin. The Information Department of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reports.
The ministers discussed current issues of Kyrgyz-Tajik cooperation, regional security and outlined the prospects for further cooperation. The sides also exchanged views on the organization of events at the highest and high levels in the near future, including bilateral meetings of the competent authorities of the parties.
Ruslan Kazakbaev and Sirodjiddin Mukhriddin agreed on the need to continue work on stepping up confidence-building measures in the area of state borders and demarcation of the remaining sections.
They also exchanged views on upcoming foreign policy events within the framework of the Fourth Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State as well as on the high-level meeting «30 Years of Central Asia-OSCE Cooperation», which is planned to be held in Bishkek.
The Foreign Ministers agreed to keep in touch to discuss issues of Kyrgyz-Tajik cooperation.
