Bishkek City Hall to spend 4.2 million soms on stray animals shooting
Tazalyk municipal enterprise plans to spend 4,260 million soms on stray animals this year. Spokesperson for the enterprise Aisuluu Isabek kyzy announced at a round table in Bishkek today.
«This sum includes not only shooting of dogs, but also picking up the dead animals on the streets — dogs, cats, birds, rats and others,» she said.
According to her, stray animals are shot at the request of the city residents only.
The French actress and founder of the Animal Welfare Foundation Brigitte Bardot appealed to the President Sadyr Japarov in February last year concerning the shooting of stray dogs in Bishkek. However, the open appeal did not help. Stray animals are still shot in the capital.
