Kazakhstan will impose restrictions on the export of grain and flour from April 15, the First Vice Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov said. Tengrinews.kz news agency reports.
According to the official, restrictive measures are necessary to eliminate the shortage in the domestic market and load the flour mills.
«The Interdepartmental Commission on Foreign Trade Policy and Participation in International Economic Organizations decided to introduce quotas for the export of wheat and flour from April 15 to June 15. The quota for wheat is 1 million tons, for flour — 300,000 tons,» he said.
According to Aidarbek Saparov, to assess the real situation in the domestic market, the ministry, together with the Bureau of National Statistics and local executive bodies, is carrying out an inventory of wheat reserves in the regions.
