Returned by Tajikistan wells of Katta-Tuz field require repairs
Many wells of Katta-Tuz field, returned to Kyrgyzstan by Tajikistan, turned out to be inoperative. The head of Kyrgyzneftegaz Nurgazy Nishanov announced at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on the fuel and energy complex, subsoil use and industry.
According to him, there are 25 wells at the gas and oil field.
«Tajikistan returned all the wells in 2015. But today, many of them are in a non-working condition. Only two wells are operating. If there are funds, then it is necessary to repair them,» Nurgazy Nishanov said.
According to him, 13,000 tons of gas are produced annually at Katta-Tuz field.
Katta-Tuz area is located in Leilek district of Batken region. The field had been under the control of Tajikistan for many years, it was fully returned to the Kyrgyz Republic only in 2012-2013.
