Situation in Ukraine: Two Fox News journalists killed in war zone
Two journalists of the American television channel Fox News were killed, another was seriously injured in the war zone in Ukraine. The TV company reported.
During shelling of the village of Gorenka near Kyiv, one of the leading journalists, cameraman and photographer Pierre Zakrzewski and a Ukrainian journalist, Fox News TV channel consultant Oleksandra Kuvshinova were killed.
Pierre Zakrzewski was 55 years old, Oleksandra Kuvshinova — 24 years old.
Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott said Zakrzewski has covered almost every international conflict on the channel, from Iraq and Afghanistan to Syria and Ukraine.
Journalist Benjamin Hall was together with the dead on the battlefield. He was seriously injured, later doctors amputated part of his lower leg.
«Earlier today, our correspondent Benjamin Hall was injured while newsgathering outside of Kyiv in Ukraine. We have a minimal level of details right now, but Ben is hospitalized and our teams on the ground are working to gather additional information as the situation quickly unfolds,» Suzanne Scott said.
According to the Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko, judging by the nature of the injuries of Fox News journalists, they got under mortar or artillery fire.
Earlier media reported about the death of a journalist Brent Renaud. He worked for The New York Times in the past.
