U.S. publishes list of luxury goods banned from export to Russia
The U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security has published a list of goods banned from export to Russia under the imposed sanctions. RIA Novosti reports.
The list includes about 570 items of various products. Alcohol, tobacco products, cosmetics and perfumes, women’s handbags and suitcases, fur products, clothing and shoes worth over $1,000, precious stones and jewelry are among them. The restrictions will apply to electric cars, motorbikes and various objects of art, including concert pianos.
The ban will also apply to Belarus. Moreover, citizens of both countries, which were put on the sanctions list by the SDN of the U.S. Department of Treasury, will be banned from buying the aforementioned products, regardless of where they are.
Situation in Ukraine remains complicated. Fighting continues. Russia started a special military operation on February 24, 2022. The number of military and civilian casualties continues to grow. Many states have imposed and continue to impose severe sanctions on Russia.
