Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan call for de-escalation of conflict
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev met with his Uzbek counterpart Abdulaziz Kamilov. Press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The meeting took place on March 11 in the city of Antalya as part of participation in the 2nd Diplomatic Forum.
The heads of the Foreign Ministries expressed their readiness to continue joint work in the field of trade, economic and investment cooperation for the further growth of trade and bringing it to $2 billion.
«Kazakbaev proposed to intensify the activities of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Fund, including through the implementation of projects for the construction of a trade and logistics center for border trade in Kyzyl-Kiya and Irkeshtam — Daraot — Korgon — Uch-Korgon highway,» the Foreign Ministry said.
The Foreign Ministers also discussed the situation in Ukraine and agreed on the need for an immediate de-escalation of the conflict, cessation of hostilities and settlement of the situation by diplomatic means.
