Situation in Ukraine: U.S. imposes ban on supply of dollar bills to Russia
U.S. President Joe Biden signed an order banning the sale or supply of dollar bills to Russia. RIA Novosti reported.
«This executive order bans the exportation, reexportation, sale, or supply, directly or indirectly, from the United States, or by a U.S. person, wherever located, of U.S. dollar-denominated banknotes to the Government of Russia or to any person located in the Russian Federation,» the document says.
In addition, Joe Biden restricted import of alcoholic beverages, diamonds and seafood from Russia, as well as the export of luxury goods to the country. «The Executive Order will establish legal grounds for future restrictions on investment in any sector of the Russian economy,» the document says.
Situation in Ukraine remains complicated. Fighting continues. Russia started a special military operation on February 24, 2022. The number of military and civilian casualties continues to grow. Many states have imposed and continue to impose severe sanctions on Russia.
