Next TV case: TV channel journalists summoned for interrogation
Journalists of Next TV channel were summoned for interrogation. Own sources confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
According to them, two representatives of the TV channel have already been interrogated. The rest will be called to the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) during the day. Ravshan Dzheenbekov wrote on Facebook that Urmat Musabekov, a SCNS investigator, is dealing with the case.
Earlier, the SCNS made a statement that a criminal case had been initiated against the Next TV channel for inciting ethnic hatred. It is clarified that the TV channel, using resources on social media, is spreading false information about an allegedly reached agreement on the provision of military assistance by Kyrgyzstan to Russia during a special operation on the territory of Ukraine. The media referred to the former head of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan as a source of information.
The Investigative Journalism Foundation calls to end pressure on the media. The Ombudsman asks the SCNS and the judiciary to respect the freedom of journalists.
