Situation in Ukraine: Third attempt to open humanitarian corridor
Russia once again declared a ‘regime of silence’ in Ukrainian cities. RIA Novosti reported.
According to the media outlet, the Russian President Vladimir Putin had earlier asked French leader Emmanuel Macron to do so in a telephone conversation.
«The Russian Armed Forces have declared a regime of silence from 10 a.m. (1 p.m. Bishkek time) and opened humanitarian corridors from Kiev, Mariupol, Kharkiv and Sumy,» the message says.
The second attempt was made yesterday, on March 6, in Mariupol to evacuate some civilians through humanitarian corridors — by buses and personal vehicles. On 5 March, local residents were also unable to take advantage of the silence regime declared by the Russian military at the request of the Ukrainian side.
Fighting continues in Ukraine. Russia launched a special military operation on February 24,2022. The number of military and civilian casualties continues to grow. Many countries have imposed and continue to impose severe sanctions against Russia.
