Conflict in Ukraine: Turkey not to close airspace for planes from Russia
Turkey will not close the airspace for aircraft from Russia. BBC reported.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that Turkish airspace should remain open to aircraft from Russia and other countries.
«It is important not only for Turkey, but also for the countries that impose these sanctions and their citizens, to have the airspace open both in strategic and humanitarian terms,» Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said.
After the closure of European airspace for Russian aircraft, Turkey has become one of the countries through which one can get to Russia.
Today is the 10th day of fighting in Ukraine. On February 24, 2022, the Russian President Vladimir Putin announced start of a special military operation. It was regarded in Ukraine and in the West as a full-scale invasion.
Second round of Russian-Ukrainian talks took place on March 3, 2022. The parties agreed on providing humanitarian aid to the population.
