Kyrgyzstan imports almost 1,000 types of medicines from Ukraine, Russia
Almost 1,000 types of medicines and medical devices are imported to Kyrgyzstan from Ukraine and Russia. The Department of Medicines and Medical Products of the Ministry of Health informed 24.kg news agency.
At least 166 types of medicines have been imported from Ukraine for 691,692,201.96 soms in 2021, from Russia — 417 types for 2,303,924,199.14 soms.
In addition, medical products were also imported from these countries to Kyrgyzstan: 388 kinds from Russia and 17 — from Ukraine.
It was announced at a yesterday meeting at the Ministry of Health that Kyrgyzstan would face interruptions in the supply of medicines. The share of supplies of medicines and medical products from Russia and Ukraine is about 60 percent of all imports.
According to the Pharmaceutical Union, due to the current situation between the two countries, all orders placed in Ukraine have been canceled, and the possibility of resumption of supplies remains questionable. Russian manufacturers, due to the instability of the ruble exchange rate, suspended shipment of goods for an indefinite period.
