Edil Baisalov: Kyrgyzstan is going to be UN member for 3,000 more years
Speaking at the presentation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023-2027, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov noted the significance of the event on the day of the 30th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan’s accession to the UN.
«Our country has been a member of the UN for 30 years, and during this time we have grown a new generation of citizens. We are a young, proud republic that is confidently looking forward. More than two-thirds of our population is under the age of 30. Therefore, celebrating the experience of the first 30 years of independence, we have to loudly declare that our people value their sovereignty and statehood and are going to remain a member of the UN for the next 3,000 years,» he said.
Edil Baisalov stressed the need for flexibility in the work of UN agencies in the Kyrgyz Republic in the coming years and priority support for the priorities of the country’s sustainable development program approved by the leadership of the republic.
Meeting of the UNDAF Strategic Coordinating Committee with the participation of the leadership and members of the Cabinet of Ministers and representatives of all offices of the United Nations system is held today.
