National Bank of Kyrgyzstan tells how to preserve savings
«The first thing to do is not to panic when exchange rates change», Official Representative of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan Aida Karabaeva stated.
The sharp rise in the exchange rate of the U.S. dollar against the som on February 24 and February 28 was due to psychological factors, she said. There is no shortage of currency in the country.
«The simplest recommendation is not to succumb to panic and not to make foreign currency purchases. It is also important to diversify savings — keep them in different currencies, gold, deposits. If you put all your eggs in one basket, you can lose everything,» Aida Karabaeva concluded.
Exchange rate of the U.S. dollar in Kyrgyzstan grew by 12 soms and reached 97 soms over the last week, exchange rate of euro grew by 8.6 soms — up to 107 soms.
