Russia changes rules for obtaining single document with chip for migrants
In case of a short-term stay of foreign citizens in Russia, they will have the right, but will not be required to obtain a single document with a chip. TASS reported with reference to the head of the Main Department for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Valentina Kazakova.
«During a short-term stay, a foreign citizen has the right to get a single document proving the identity of a foreign citizen on the territory of the Russian Federation with a data storage device,» the report says.
Valentina Kazakova noted that the obligation to obtain such a document arises if a foreigner wants to stay in Russia for a long time. It is noted that the single document performs the functions of many other documents: a residence permit, a temporary residence permit, a work permit, a license, a certificate of a participant in the resettlement program for compatriots, a certificate of temporary asylum, a refugee certificate, a temporary identity card of a stateless person.
Such a document with data storage device can be obtained by submitting an application to the territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or to an organization subordinate to it, including in electronic form.
Earlier it was reported that Russia could begin to expel migrants for drunk driving or corruption.
