Belarus ready to cooperate with Kyrgyzstan in supply of agricultural products
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov met with the Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko on the sidelines of the regular meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan).
The head of the Cabinet noted a positive trend in mutual contacts and the dynamics of bilateral trade in 2021 compared to 2020. Mutual trade turnover last year amounted to almost $72 million and increased by 50 percent compared to the same period in 2020.
«These figures do not correspond to the existing potential between our countries, which are members of the same integration association. I think that we need to strive to increase trade,» Akylbek Japarov said.
The parties also discussed issues of bilateral cooperation. In addition, it was proposed to hold a meeting of the Kyrgyz-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian cooperation in Bishkek in March this year.
