Cost of gold in reserves of Kyrgyzstan decreases 1.7 times for year
The cost of gold in the international reserves of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan at the year-end 2021 decreased 1.72 times compared to 2020. The data are provided on the website of the bank.
It is noted that in 2020 the figure was $1,017.9 billion. At the end of 2021, it decreased to $591.8 million. The highest level of gold in reserves was in April — $1,017.9 billion. But then it started to shrink.
The sharpest drop was registered in June last year — 2.3 times.
Then the level fell from $985.2 million to $430.4 million. Then it started to grow.
In physical terms, the country’s gold reserves decreased from 539,000 troy ounces to 327,000.
The gold reserves, in addition to gold bullions, also include gold deposits and gold in swap transactions.
The total volume of gross international reserves of the National Bank at the end of 2021 amounted to $2.9 billion and increased by $169.45 million compared to 2020. In addition to gold, this indicator includes foreign currency, securities, and deposits in foreign banks.
