Bishkek City Hall plans to spend 1.5 billion soms on purchase of buses
Bishkek City Hall plans to spend 1.5 billion soms on the purchase of buses. The First Vice Mayor of the capital Mirlan Baigonchokov told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, 1 billion soms was allocated for these purposes in the draft budget for 2022. «There are still sources as of the end of the year — about 500 million soms. Thus, in general, we plan to purchase for 1.5 billion,» Mirlan Baigonchokov said.
He noted that they would be purchased through an open tender. Everyone can take part in it.
This year the City Hall plans to purchase electric buses. Previously, ADB approved $50.65 million in funding to purchase battery electric buses and improve transport infrastructure in Bishkek.
The day before, the relevant committee of the Parliament approved in the first reading a draft law on the ratification of the loan and grant agreement signed on September 16, 2021 between the Kyrgyz Republic and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on Bishkek Buses project.
