Member of Butun Kyrgyzstan party Mirlan Uraimov placed in SCNS remand prison

Mirlan Uraimov, a member of Butun Kyrgyzstan party, was placed in the remand prison of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS). The decision was made by the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek.

The activist was taken into custody until March 24.

His lawyer Zhyrgalbek Babayev told 24.kg news agency that he did not agree with the accusation. The preventive measure will be appealed to the Bishkek City Court.

«The judge did not hear our arguments. The defense asked to place Mirlan Uraimov under house arrest. The charges brought against my client are unfounded. His account was hacked. The investigation has no evidence that it was Mirlan Uraimov who published the post on Facebook,» Zhyrgalbek Babayev said.

Mirlan Uraimov was detained on February 8. He is suspected of public calls for a violent seizure of power. A post was published on the social media, which was allegedly written by a user Mirlan Uraimov. It is written in the Kyrgyz language that it is necessary to change the government as it does not work well. The detainee himself says that he did not write this.
