Kaktus.media case: Protesters continue rally near Kloop office
Rally against media continues near the office of Kloop in Bishkek.
The people who staged a protest near Kaktus.media office today moved there. They still demand to declare Kaktus.media, Kloop and Azattyk foreign agents. They call these media outlets destabilizers of the life of Kyrgyzstanis.
Earlier, the former MP and ex-ombudsman Tursunbai Bakir uulu said that the rally participants demanded to fine the media outlet for the published news item taken from a Tajik information portal.
A rally was held near the office of Kaktus.media on January 28. The protesters demanded to shut down the media outlet, because the journalists gave information — a reprint from the Tajik Asia Plus website — about the conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. Later, the Prosecutor General’s Office sent out information that a criminal case had been initiated on the fact of the publication about the armed conflict in the border zone. The media workers were summoned for interrogations by the Bishkek prosecutor’s office.
