SCNS head tells about work of commission on delimitation of border
Today, at a meeting of Parliament, deputies heard information from the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) Kamchybek Tashiev on the issue of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
In an interview with journalists, the head of the security services said that the commission on the delimitation and demarcation of borders had reached Maity village in Leilek district and its work would continue next week.
«The work was suspended because there were no settlements before, but they are some now: Kulundu, International, Maksat, Borborduk-1 and 2, Arka-1 and 2, Katta Tuz. We have come to the most difficult issues. The working group will soon start demarcation of the borders,» he said.
Kamchybek Tashiev added that the border would be demarcated by agreement between the working groups of the two countries. «Controversial issues may arise. One issue is resolved in one or two days, some — in a week, and some can be resolved for months. We are not going to rush, border issues will be resolved in any case, because without this we will not be able to ensure the peace of the people,» he stressed.
