Liquidation of Mammology Center: Cancer patients hold rally in Bishkek
Rally is held in Bishkek against closure of the Mammology Center under the National Center for Oncology and Hematology.
Previously, patients reported that the rights of 5,000 breast cancer patients to receive medical care and treatment were violated due to the liquidation of the Mammology Center.
The protesters came to the Government House and said that due attention was not paid to cancer patients.
«Mostly poor women from villages were treated at the Mammology Center. Some of them don’t even have money to come to Bishkek. The best doctors worked in this center. They treat us for free. We oppose the reorganization,» the protesters said.
Transformation of the center into a department was announced last year. Then the director of the National Center for Oncology and Hematology Baktygul Sultangazieva noted that the reorganization of the Mammology Center would not affect patients and doctors.
