State National Russian Drama Theater in Bishkek to be closed for major repairs
The State National Russian Drama Theatre in Bishkek will be closed for major repairs. The Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Azamat Zhamankulov announced at a press conference.
According to him, the repairs will begin in February.
«We have already vacated the building from public catering outlets. We hope that we will complete the repairs by the end of the year,» the official said.
He added that the Toktobolot Abdumomunov Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theater will open this year after repairs. In addition, the repair of the building of the Osh State Academic Musical and Drama Theater named after Babur in Osh continues at the expense of Uzbekistan.
It is worth reminding that in July 2019, the government allocated 198 million soms for the overhaul of cultural buildings, including two drama theaters. However, the repair and construction work was suspended later.
