Repeat elections: Infected with coronavirus can vote before election day
Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan (CEC) explained to 24.kg news agency how voters who are quarantined on the day of the repeat elections can vote.
It is specified that these are the people who are infected with coronavirus, but suffering from the disease in mild and moderate forms. These voters have to apply to the regional election commission until February 24 and say that they will not be able to come to the polling station on the election day. The mobile team will arrive on February 26, the day of silence, and the citizens will be able to fulfil their civic duty.
The CEC also noted that the lists of those who will vote early, including hospital patients and those under investigation, who are kept in pre-trial detention facilities, are to be ready no later than on February 18.
The CEC must register candidates by February 7. Campaigning will begin on February 7 and end on February 26 at 8 a.m. Repeat elections in two single-mandate constituencies, Pervomaisky and Sverdlovsky, will be held on February 27.
