National Bank starts year with record intervention of $70.1 million
The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan entered the foreign exchange market with an intervention of $70.1 million for the first time in 2022. Official website of the bank says.
It sold $2.5 million with settlements on the transaction date and $67.6 million with settlements different from the date of the transaction. It is worth noting that this is one of the largest interventions over the past year.
In 2021 the National Bank spent $698,950 million of gross international reserves to support the national currency. The information was published on the website of the central bank.
Earlier, the National Bank intervened on December 7 and November 23, 2021, when $71.3 million and $70.3 million were sold, respectively. In total, the National Bank conducted 15 interventions last year, selling $698.95 million.
