The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev took part in an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) on the situation in Kazakhstan.

The meeting of the heads of the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Hungary was held at the initiative of Turkey.

The parties expressed their condolences to Kazakhstan in connection with human losses during clashes and wished a speedy recovery to all the victims. Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that Kazakhstan is a fraternal Turkic state, one of the founders of the OTS and the main goal of the meeting was to show solidarity with the Kazakh side.

The Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi informed about the current situation in the country and the measures taken by the government to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

Ruslan Kazakbaev noted that from the first days Kyrgyzstan has been closely and anxiously following the latest events in Kazakhstan. «The Kyrgyz Republic opposes terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. I am sincerely interested in normalizing the situation and establishing peace and order in the Republic of Kazakhstan,» he stressed.

The official thanked his Kazakh counterpart for the assistance provided to the relatives of the deceased citizens of Kyrgyzstan, assistance in the release of the detainees, and organizing their evacuation to their homeland.

At the same time, the head of the foreign policy department of the Kyrgyz Republic stressed that it is necessary to closely cooperate, and added that an open, fair investigation into each case should be carried out within the framework of the legislation of Kazakhstan, in strict accordance with the relevant bilateral and multilateral agreements.

Ruslan Kazakbaev asked to promptly inform diplomatic missions about the detention of compatriots in accordance with the requirements of international and bilateral documents.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on compatriots staying in Kazakhstan to comply with the laws and rules of stay in the country of residence, not to succumb to provocations, not to take part in conflict situations, to avoid crowded places and stay in their places of residence.
