Sharp increase in COVID-19 incidence: Omicron not detected in Kyrgyzstan
The Omicron strain of coronavirus has not been detected in Kyrgyzstan. Health Minister of the country Alymkadyr Beishenaliev told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the republic independently determines the strains circulating in the Kyrgyz Republic. Earlier samples were sent to Russia.
«We monitor every day. As of today there is no Omicron, but we are ready for it,» the official stressed.
It is worth noting that earlier this strain of coronavirus was detected in neighboring Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
An increase in the number of cases of coronavirus and community-acquired pneumonia is registered in Kyrgyzstan after the New year holidays. Almost 350 cases have been detected for the last 24 hours.
