Hospital for patients with coronavirus resumes work in Osh city

A hospital for patients with COVID-19 was reopened in Osh city. Press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The ministry reminded that the hospital with 100 beds was built on the territory of the Children’s Infectious Diseases Hospital for treatment of patients with coronavirus infection in 2020. Since 2021, all residents of the southern capital of the country have been treated there.

According to the Chief Doctor of the hospital Bakai Akmatov, the last patient with COVID-19 was discharged about two months ago, the hospital was temporarily mothballed. It resumed work the day before.

«Everything is ready for patients, there is the necessary equipment, medicines; liquid oxygen has been supplied to all wards, there are sufficient quantities of PPE for the medical staff. There is a call center 118 and a mobile team that consults and visits at the request of citizens,» he said.

At least 161 children are being treated in the hospital. There is all the necessary equipment for functional diagnostics (ECG, ultrasound scanner, digital X-ray machine) and reagents for laboratory diagnostics.

An increase in the number of cases of coronavirus and community-acquired pneumonia is registered in Kyrgyzstan after the New year holidays. Almost 350 cases have been detected for the last 24 hours.
