National Bank of Kyrgyzstan conducts largest intervention in 2021
The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan entered the foreign exchange market for the first time in December with intervention. Website of the central bank of the country reports.
It sold $10.5 million with settlements on the date of the transaction and $60.8 million — with settlements different from the transaction rate. This is the largest sale of US dollars since the beginning of 2021.
Since the beginning of 2021, the National Bank has intervened 14 times, selling $633.7 million.
The National Bank conducts interventions to stabilize the situation in the foreign exchange market.
