Attack on Omurbek Tekebaev: One of suspects detained
Suspect of attack on Omurbek Tekebaev, the leader of Ata Meken party, was detained. The Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek informed 24.kg news agency.
The suspect is a 23-year-old native of Chui region.
«The detainee was placed in a temporary detention facility. He voluntarily gave the mobile phone belonging to Omurbek Tekebaev. Investigative actions and operational measures are underway to identify other suspects in the criminal case,» the Internal Affairs Department said.
The politician associates the incident with his political activity and attempts to challenge the election results.
