EU urges Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan to resolve border disputes as soon as possible
High-ranking European Union delegation discussed border disputes between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan during a visit to Dushanbe. The High Representative of the European Union Josep Borrell stated at a press conference in Dushanbe, Interfax reports.
«We discussed the issue of border disputes between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Relations between the two countries, demarcation and delimitation, naturally, were at the center of our attention during the discussions on the issue,» he said.
Josep Borrell arrived in Dushanbe on an official visit and to participate in the 17th meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Central Asian states and the European Union.
«We want the two countries to find an effective solution to this issue as soon as possible,» he said.
