Cases of restriction of right to perform religious rituals registered in prisons
Convicted of extremism complain about the restriction of the right to perform religious rituals. Director of the National Center for Prevention of Torture Bakyt Ryspekov told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, those convicted of extremism, like other persons serving sentences, are afraid to report torture.
«But there are anonymous complaints about restrictions on their rights to timely apply to the Ombudsman, a lawyer. There are no conditions for the performance of religious rituals due to small cells. Earlier, there were cases of a ban on having a beard, but there are no such reports now,» Bakyt Ryspekov said.
A round table discussion is held in Bishkek on the topic: «Observance of human rights in the context of combating extremism in OSCE region.»
