SCNS tells about detention of Leilek resident by Tajikistan
Aidarbek Khaidarov was detained on the territory of Tajikistan in Pakhtakor village, where his father lives. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.
The state committee confirmed that the resident of Leilek is accused of illegal crossing of the state border.
«Negotiations between the border representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as meetings at the level of the heads of Batken and Sughd regions of the two republics have been held twice on the issue of the return of Aidarbek Khaidarov to his homeland. The issue is under the control of the State Committee for National Security, every possible effort is being made to return the Kyrgyzstani home,» the Border Service said.
This section of the border in Leilek district, where Aidarbek Khaidarov was allegedly detained, is not demarcated.
