Sooronbai Jeenbekov, Foreign Minister of Afghanistan discus situation in region
President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov received the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, Salahuddin Rabbani. The Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Sooronbai Jeenbekov expressed confidence that the minister’s first visit to Kyrgyzstan would strengthen Kyrgyz-Afghan cooperation and raise it to a new, higher-quality level, noting that Afghanistan was a close neighbor for Kyrgyzstan.
«We are grateful that Kyrgyzstan supports the position of Afghanistan in the framework of international organizations. You can be sure that Afghanistan will always support the positions of the Kyrgyz Republic,» the minister said.
Sooronbai Jeenbekov and Salahuddin Rabbani also touched upon issues of ensuring security in the region, support of the ethnic Kyrgyz in Afghanistan and prospects for trade and economic partnership.
