National Bank and mobile operators discuss cooperation

The meeting was held in the framework of measures to implement the presidential decree on announcing 2019 the Year of Regional Development and Digitalization of the Country and implementation of the state program to increase the share of non-cash payments in Kyrgyzstan. During the meeting, issues related to unidentified wallets, development of a sub-agent network, an agency scheme for return of the funds from personal accounts of subscribers and the guarantee of payments (insurance deposits) were discussed.
«Following the meeting, we decided to work out the issues by a working group formed by the National Bank,» the message says.
Recall it was at this time when mobile operators decided to enter the electronic money market. Initially, they offered to replenish the balance of a wallet from a phone number balance. However, the National Bank considered such operations unsafe and amended the provision on electronic money, prohibiting replenishing e-wallets from the balance of a cell phone.
