Supporters of Omurbek Babanov banned from holding rallies in Karakol and Talas
Supporters of Omurbek Babanov were banned from holding rallies in Karakol and Talas cities. Secretariat of Respublika party reported.
Their rally was not banned in Naryn only. The City Administration of Talas explained its decision by the fact that there are municipal departments, pre-school and educational institutions at the place of the rally. In addition, on April 13, an ARIS organization’s event on handing over motorcycles is scheduled on the square.
Decision of the Karakol City Administration says that there is the Kyrgyz-Turkish Lyceum, other educational institutions, including Bilimstan children’s center next to the central square, where supporters of Omurbek Babanov intend to meet today. By law, holding of numerous rallies near educational institutions is banned.
Respublika party stressed that all these decisions were appealed to the courts and even if the courts agree with the position of the city administrations, then rallies will still be held in the planned places in Karakol, Talas and Bishkek cities.
Omurbek Babanov stated that he would return to Kyrgyzstan on April 13.
