Court bars supporters of Omurbek Babanov from holding rally on Old Square
The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek considered the legality of refusal of the Bishkek City Administration of the capital of holding a rally of supporters of Omurbek Babanov on the Old Square.
Judge Zarema Beisheeva read out the decision, according to which the restriction of the place of holding of Respublika party’s meeting was recognized as legitimate and justified.
The judge indicated that an event with the participation of the Prime Minister and the World Health Organization would take place on the square on April 13. Two scheduled events in one place at an interval of one hour can lead to a mass gathering of people.
This, according to the judge, may be followed by a violation of public order, work and the safety of state facilities located nearby, especially if to consider the fact that Respublika party stated about 10,000 participants of the rally.
