Kyrgyzstan announces 1st contest of azan readers
A contest of azan (call for prayer) readers will be held in Kyrgyzstan for the 1st time. The Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
As the muftiyat told, it will be republican contest and will begin in Bishkek on April 27. Selection for participation took place in November 2018. According to SDMK, more than 500 readers took part in it. At least 27 masters of reading azan were selected for the final round.
A winner will get a ticket to the minor pilgrimage to Mecca. Winners of the second and third places will get valuable prizes.
