Government approves list of special means used in suppression of riots
Government of Kyrgyzstan approved a list of special means used in suppression of riots. The Ministry of Interior told 24.kg news agency about the list.
It includes rubber truncheons, shock protection suits, pump-action shotguns, firing rubber bullets, shields — transparent and metal, tear gas.
According to the order of the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, servicemen can use special means to disperse persons arranging illegal rallies, not obeying police officers, as well as provocateurs.
The Interior Ministry told that there are several types of tear gas, in particular, with red pepper effect.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has the right to use, for example, pump-action weapons against participants of any unauthorized assembly who try to attack a police officer or enter the territory of a specially protected facility.
