Bakyt Torobaev proposes to return vote threshold of 5 percent
Deputy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev proposes to return the vote threshold of 5 percent instead of the legitimized 9 percent. He stated to 24.kg news agency.
According to him, he amended the electoral legislation.
«Reduction of the threshold will help to involve more parties in the electoral process and develop competition of political ideas,» said Bakyt Torobaev and added that there were supporters of reduction of the vote threshold in the Parliament.
At the same time, Bakyt Torobaev proposes to preserve the regional threshold of 0.7 percent. Earlier, leaders of youth movements proposed to reduce not only the electoral threshold, but also the electoral deposit to 1 million soms instead of 5 million.
