Almazbek Atambayev accused of consolidation of power
A public commission will be set up to assess the six-year work of the ex-president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev. Human rights activist Tursunbek Akun told journalists.
According to him, the commission’s goal is to investigate all decisions made by Almazbek Atambayev during his presidency.
«Results of the investigation and assessment will be sent to the law enforcement agencies. The former head of state should be held accountable for all his actions, in particular, for consolidation of power, incitement of regional hatred, political persecution and corruption facts,» Tursunbek Akun said.
Kurultai of political, patriotic and social forces takes place today in Bishkek. There is only one issue on the agenda — consolidation of power and its consequences.
