National team of Kyrgyzstan wins 8 medals at World Sambo Cup
Kyrgyzstan wins 8 medals at the World Sambo Cup. The International Sambo Federation reports.
The tournament was held in Moscow with participation of 250 athletes from 33 countries. It was dedicated to the memory of one of the founders of sambo, Anatoly Kharlampiev. The national team won one silver and seven bronze medals.
Imanbek Tentiev (52 kg) and Nursultan Ulanov (68 kg) took the third place at the sport sambo tournament. Kyrgyzstanis won the rest of the awards in combat sambo section. Ruslan uulu Zhanat (52 kg) became the second, Sayak Barakanov (62 kg), Sultan Alykulov (68 kg), Daiyrbek Kariyaev (74 kg), Alymbek Nasipov (90 kg) and Bekzat Mambetkulov (over 100 kg) — the third.
The tournament is held annually. In 2018, Kyrgyz sambo wrestlers won two medals.
