New tobacco ban law may cause smuggling growth in Kyrgyzstan
«Prohibition method for combating tobacco smoking has not worked for a long time. It may lead to an increase in smuggling,» said Evgeny Tyan, Director of the Association of Leading Restaurateurs and Hoteliers, at a press conference at 24.kg news agency today.
According to him, the new bill must be finalized and a choice must be given to business. For example, it is necessary to retain smoking rooms.
«If there are no smoking rooms in the establishments, people will have to go outside. This means that even more people will see smoking. In addition, heavy fines raise questions.
