Ex-president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev becomes judge
Ex-President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev became a judge of the International Court of Arbitration. Newspaper «Delo No ...» reports.
According to the newspaper, Almazbek Atambayev is the 13th in the list of 344 arbitrators.
As it turned out, the former head of state became an arbitrator a year and a half ago. He was invited to become an arbitrator at the International Conference of the International Court of Arbitration in November 2017.
A well-known lawyer Shamaral Maichiev notes that not only lawyers can be arbitrators, but also specialists from other fields — construction, communications, the securities market. He believes that Almazbek Atambayev has the skills to consider economic cases.
It is known that Almazbek Atambayev did not take part in any dispute resolution so far.
Arbitrator is not provided with salary. He or she receives a part from an arbitration fee.
