Interior Ministry: Situation on Kyrgyzstan - Tajikistan border is stable
Situation on Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border is stable. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The head of the ministry Kashkar Dzhunushaliev reportedly arrived in Ak-Sai village the day before. He met with the personnel and stressed the need for an active explanatory work among residents of the border areas of Batken region about the measures taken to stabilize the situation together with the Tajik side.
Law enforcement officers of Batken region are on alert, and all sections of the border are also guarded.
Recall, a conflict occurred on Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border in Ak-Sai village of Batken region on March 13. According to preliminary data, citizens of Tajikistan wanted to hinder construction of Ak-Sai — Tamdyk road. Kyrgyz border guards prevented this. People started throwing stones at each other. There are injured citizens of the two states.
