Kyrgyzstan has 24 seismic-prone zones
There are 24 registered earthquake-prone zones in Kyrgyzstan. Director of the Institute of Seismology of Kyrgyzstan, Kanatbek Abdrakhmatov, told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, three of them are considered as the most active. These are Alay valley on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, Issyk-Kul valley and Chui valley, located south of Bishkek.
«Experts believe that seismic activity outbreaks a possible there in the near future,» Kanatbek Abdrakhmatov said.
He added that the number of earth shocks would increase in 2019-2020, but it was impossible to predict their force. Such activity is characterized by the fact that the magnitude of an earthquake can reach 5-6 points.
